We did not prepare for this moment especially carefully, but the atmosphere was comfortable for us. When her parents left, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity. I think everything went well, and I remember it without embarrassment. But over time, our paths diverged: we entered different universities, and the relationship gradually faded into the background. Today, I am happy in another family, and Tanya, I hope, has also found her happiness.”

Psychologist Tatyana Zaychenko comments: “Pyotr’s experience was generally positive. Ideally, first sex should be backed up by feelings, but breaking up due to life changes is a natural occurrence. The positive outcome of the first experience in this situation can be explained by the absence of negative consequences.”

Marina, 25: “My first time happened in a dorm in my first year. Yegor and I were both new, and at some point we decided to try something new. I chose it because I just wanted to experience this feeling. Sex didn’t make much of an impression on me, but we continued to meet from time to time. Now I’m married and raising a daughter. My first experience didn’t leave much of a mark on my life, it was just curiosity.”

Psychologist Tatyana Zaychenko comments: “Marina used her first experience as a way to satisfy her curiosity. Regular changes of partners in the dorm could lead to the formation of an attitude towards sex as entertainment, which in turn can affect the spirituality of intimate relationships."

Romance and disappointment

Alina, 28: "My first sex was with Ilya, a rock musician who was 10 years older than me. Our relationship was full of romance, but there was no sex, since I was not ready. However, when Ilya began to distance himself, I decided to change the situation. This led to an unpleasant and painful night, after which he left for another. I could not cope with this for a long time and only later found my husband, with whom I am happy."

Commentary by psychologist Tatyana Zaychenko: "Alina tried to save the relationship with the help of sex, which, unfortunately, did not work. Sex is only part of the relationship and cannot replace sincere feelings. Such attempts to return a partner through sex are often unsuccessful."

Vladimir, 23: “My first experience was with Zhenya, the girl I was planning to start a family with. My friend Denis kept teasing me that I was still a virgin, and this pushed me to speed up the process. In the end, I convinced Zhenya, and everything went well. We are still together and happy.”

We tried, but it didn’t become something special for me. Now I am with a partner who I am really interested in." Psychologist Tatyana Zaychenko comments: "Svetlana probably had a practical approach to sex, which allowed her to maintain clarity in her feelings. However, such an attitude can reduce the emotional significance of intimate relationships."
