  • Summer Diet and How to Eat in the Heat
    Опубликовано: 2025-11-17 10:10:23

With the arrival of warmer days, our bodies require special nutrition. The heat forces them to function differently, and familiar dishes often become heavy. Summer is the best time to fill your diet with light, vitamin-rich foods, maintain hydration, and feel energized even in the hottest weather.

Fresh vegetables and greens should form the basis of your summer menu. They are rich in fiber, vitamins, and microelements, helping to cleanse the body and improve metabolism. The less heat they require, the greater the benefits. Light salads can be dressed with vegetable oil or yogurt instead of mayonnaise. Salt should be used sparingly—excess salt causes fluid retention, which only worsens well-being in the heat.

Fruits and berries are another source of energy and moisture. They quench thirst and replenish vitamins. It's best to choose seasonal fruits grown locally. But even natural sweets should be eaten with caution: for example, it's best to avoid bananas and melons in the evening to avoid excess calories.

Porridges are also healthy in the summer—they keep you full for a long time, supplying the body with complex carbohydrates and B vitamins. By adding nuts, berries, or a spoonful of honey to your porridge, you can have a complete breakfast without the extra weight. To add variety to your diet, it's worth having light fasting days—watermelon, apple, or vegetable ones. These help remove excess fluid and give your skin a healthy glow.

You don't need to completely give up meat dishes, but it's best to opt for lighter varieties like chicken, fish, or lamb. When preparing kebabs, it's best to use natural marinades without vinegar and generously pair the meat with fresh herbs. Hot spices like mustard or horseradish not only enhance the flavor but also help protect against bacteria.

In summer, pay special attention to your beverages. It's best to replace carbonated lemonades and store-bought juices with homemade compotes, herbal infusions, green tea, or kvass. They're not only refreshing but also replenish lost fluids safely. For those with a sweet tooth, homemade sorbets made from fresh fruit without artificial additives are a great alternative to ice cream.

Summer is the perfect time to improve your diet and listen to your needs. By choosing fresh, simple, and natural foods, you can not only maintain a lighter weight but also improve your health. After all, it's in summer that we nourish our bodies with everything they need to stay strong and energetic all year round.
