  • Nightlight harm: mental health implications
    Опубликовано: 2023-12-27 10:30:58

A new study from Ohio State University warns of the potential mental health harms of sleeping with the lights on. Experiments conducted on rodents showed that even weak light, similar to that from a TV in a dark room, can cause signs of depression in animals sleeping with the lights on.

Interestingly, the study also found that shifting work hours to nighttime can significantly increase the risk of developing breast cancer. These findings may have important implications for people working night shifts and highlight the impact of light hours on mental well-being.

According to the data, even dim light at night can affect the brain structure responsible for emotions and long-term memory formation. This demonstrates the importance of creating optimal sleep conditions, including dark rooms, to maintain mental health.

Experts emphasize that striking a balance in bedroom lighting and proper sleep patterns can play a key role in maintaining mental wellbeing. This raises the need to rethink sleep habits and create an optimal environment for rest.
