  • Smile to live longer: scientific evidence
    Опубликовано: 2023-12-24 10:30:51

Smiling is not only a reflection of positive emotions, but also the key to a long and happy life, American scientists claim. Their study showed that the width of the smile is directly related to the life expectancy of a person. Mimic wrinkles that appear when smiling have an impact not only on visual age, but also on the actual time a person can live.

A team of scientists from Wayne State University analyzed photos of 230 American baseball players who began their careers back in the 1950s. The photos were divided into three categories: those who looked at the camera without smiling, those who smiled partially, and those who smiled full-mouth.

According to data as of June 1 of last year, players who looked at the camera without smiling lived to an average age of 72.9 years. Those who smiled partially lived to age 75, while the most cheerful of them reached the age of 79.9 years and even longer.

This study emphasizes the importance of positive moods and joyful emotions for overall health and longevity. Smile - and you may be adding a few years to your life!
