    Physical activity is becoming a reliable ally in the fight against depression, scientists claim. Studies by American scientists emphasize that physical exercise may be one of the best "medicines" to fight this mental disorder.

    According to the research, physical activity can have a similar effect to antidepressants. A course of moderate exercise for several weeks, according to scientists, leads to an increase in the levels of galanin, a peptide, serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. It is the imbalance of these substances that is considered one of the causes of depression.

    Experts recommend engaging in moderate physical activity five times a week for 30 minutes, for example, preferring to walk, or three times a week for 30 minutes to devote to high-intensity aerobics. Regular physical activity becomes the key to overcoming depression.

    These findings emphasize the importance of physical health not only for the overall well-being of the body, but also as an effective method of preventing and treating depression. Therefore, intervening in this mental imbalance through physical activity can be a highly effective approach.
